Matthias Joseph Anker
Matthias Joseph Anker (* 1772 in Graz, † April 3, 1843 ) was an Austrian geologist.
Matthias Joseph Anker was first circle Surgeon in Graz, later professor of mineralogy at the local Joanneum and died on 3 April 1843 in Graz. He wrote:
- Way, as you can go casual to work to determine a found unknown Fossil ( Graz, 1808); He also designed the first geological map of Styria and delivered to:
- Brief description of mineralogy of Styria (Graz 1809);
- Presentation of the mineralogical and geological conditions geognostical Styria (Graz 1835).
According to him, the ankerite is named.
