Medlovice (Vyškov District)

Medlovice ( German Medlowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers south of Ivanovice na Hané and belongs to Okres Vyškov.

Geography

Medlovice is located in the northern foothills of Litenčické Hills at the transition into the Hanna. The street village extends into the valley of the brook Medlovický creek. To the north flows the Haná. Right side of the river runs the D1 motorway, take the next exit 236 Ivanovice na Hané is located two kilometers north of the village. Southwest of the Lysa hora rises (361 m).

Neighboring towns are Ivanovice na Hané in the north, Těšice and Tištín in the northeast, Švábenice in the east, Pačlavice, Zdravá Voda, Lhota and Boří za Zdravou Vodou in the southeast, Moravské Málkovice in the south, Boškůvky the southwest, Rybníček and Trpinka in the west and Hoštice - Heroltice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of belonging to the reign Ivanovice na Hané village was in 1490, when the Grand Master of the Order of St. John, John of swan mountain, the desert castle Orlov with the town Eiwanowitz and the villages Orlovice, Hoštice Medlovice and Málkovice and the courts Málkovice and Janov the diocese of Varaždin incorporated. In 1445 the Brno patrician Michal Kunigsfelder acquired the estates of the Hospitallers. After the abolition of patrimonial Medlovice formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Wischau. 1871 originated in Medlivice a cemetery, previously performed the burials in Hoštice. The new chapel was built in 1898-1899 at a more suitable place to the west over the village. The cemetery near the pond Rybnik was enlarged in 1908.

In 1910 Medlovice had 397 inhabitants. 1930 was the community Medlivice of 94 houses and 371 inhabitants had that belonged to all Czech folk group. In 1964 Medlovice was combined with Rybníček to the municipality Medlovice - Rybníček. In 1976, a reorganization of the cemetery and 1981 Urnenhain was created. The community Medlovice - Rybníček was incorporated in 1986 after Ivanovice na Hané. In 1990, Medlovice get back to their community. Since December 1997, the municipality performs a coat of arms and banners.
