Meechai Ruchuphan

Meechai Ruchuphan ( Thai: มี ชัย ฤชุ พันธุ์, pronunciation: [mi ː ʰ up ʰ at t͡ɕaj rɯt͡ɕ ]; born February 2, 1938) is a Thai politician and legal expert.

Following the resignation of Prime Minister General Suchinda Kraprayoon on 24 May 1992, he took over until June 10 of the same year the official duties of the Prime Minister. Under General Suchinda Meechai was deputy prime minister. On June 10, Anand Panyarachun was appointed Prime Minister. Meechai was a long time spokesman of the Thai Senate.

At present (2007) is Meechai Ruchuphan Chairman of the National Legislative Assembly, a comprehensive 242 members of Parliament, which was used by the military government. His election as President was not without controversy. He was the military to related parties.
