Mendeleyevo, Kaliningrad Oblast

Mendelejewo (Russian Менделеево, German Pogge cesspool, Lithuanian Pogenfulis ) is a place in the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast ( region Königsberg ( Prussia) ) and belongs to Dobrinskoje selskoje posselenije (Town Dobrino ( Nautzken ) ) in Rajon Guryevsk (district Neuhausen ).

Geographical location

Mendelejewo located 17 kilometers northeast of the city of Kaliningrad (Königsberg ) on a side road that leads from Jaroslawskoje ( Schonwalde ) to Antonowka. City consumption ends connected by road from the Russian highway A 190 ( former German Empire Road 126) at Perwomaiskoje ( Kuggen ). History

The village called until 1946 Pogge puddle was on April 30, 1874 the eponymous and administrative capital of the newly established office district Pogge lake of fire.
