Mia Gommers

Gommers Maria ( Maria Francisca Philomena "Mia" Gommers; born September 26, 1939 in Stone ) is a former Dutch middle distance runner.

On 24 June 1967 she achieved with 4:15,6 min a world record in the 1500 meter race, which was two and a half years later undercut by Paola Pigni. In the Summer Olympics 1968 in Mexico City, she won the bronze medal in the 800 -meter run behind the US-American Madeline Manning and the Romanian Ileana Silai. The European Athletics Championships 1969 in Athens, she won silver over 1500 m.
