Mial Eben Lilley

Mial Eben Lilley (* May 30, 1850 in Canton, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, † February 28, 1915 at Towanda, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. Between 1905 and 1907 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Mial Lilley attended both public and private schools. He then worked for several years as a blacksmith. After a subsequent study of law in Canton and his 1880 was admitted to the bar he began in Towanda to work in this profession. In the years 1893 and 1896, he was elected in Bradford County in the Office of the Prothonotary. In 1903 he was appointed deputy attorney general for the central part of the state Pennsylvania. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1904 Lilley was in the 14th electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Charles Frederick Wright on March 4, 1905. Since he has not been confirmed in 1906, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1907. After his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Lilley again practiced as a lawyer. He died on February 28, 1915 in Towanda, where he was also buried.
