Michael Del Zotto

Michael Del Zotto (* June 24, 1990 in Stouffville, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defender of Italian descent, who plays for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League since 2014.

Career

Michael Del Zotto began his career in 2005 at the Markham Waxers in a unterklassigen junior league in Ontario. Especially by his 30 goals and 90 assists, he was able to draw attention to himself and changed in the summer of 2006 in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League with the Oshawa Generals, who had him selected earlier in the OHL Priority Selection. For the Oshawa Generals, he played two and a half years until January 2009. This meant that the title aspirant, the London Knights, committed him along with John Tavares and Daryl Borden to win the championship of the OHL. In the semifinals of the 2008/ 09 against the Windsor Spitfires but they were subject in the best- of-seven series 4-1, all games were decided in extra time.

Prior to the defender in the NHL Entry Draft in 2008 was selected in the first round in 20th place of the New York Rangers, who took him in May 2009 for signing his first NHL contract. Del Zotto 2012 played during the NHL lockout in Rapperswil -Jona Lakers. In January 2014 he was transferred from the New York Rangers to the Nashville Predators, who received the defender Kevin Klein in return.
