Miguel Zepeda

Miguel Zepeda ( born May 25, 1976 in Tepic, Nayarit ) is a Mexican footballer who acts mostly as an attacking midfielder. In the winter of 1997 he was voted the best young player in Mexico.

Life

Association

Zepeda started his professional career with the CF Atlas, for which he was chasing the round leather ball between 1995 and 2001 afterwards. He then moved to the capital club Cruz Azul, where he stood in the seasons 2001/ 02 and 2002/ 03 under contract. His other engagements were always of short duration and limited multiple times on half a season. Most recently, he played in the 2010/11 season for the second-division club Leones Negros, where he is the undisputed leading players.

National

His debut in the dress of the Mexican national team gave Zepeda on 10 February 1999 in the 0-1 defeat against Argentina. His last international match, he completed on 27 April 2005, when Mexico broke away from Poland 1-1.

Highlight of his international career was the participation in the discharged in their own country FIFA Confederations Cup 1999, in which the Mexican national team celebrated its biggest triumph. " El Tri " won the title by a final victory against world champion Brazil at the Azteca stadium in Mexico City and Zepeda may by his two goals he was able to contribute to the 4-3 victory, rightly be described as a " match-winner ".
