Mika Mäki

Mika Mäki (born 27 February 1988 Pirkkala, Finland) is a Finnish racing driver.

Career

1998 Mäki began his motorsport career in karting. In 2005 he moved to Formula racing and competed in the German Formula BMW. In his first season he finished in twelfth place overall. In 2006, he again drove in the German Formula BMW and was runner-up behind Christian Vietoris. 2007 moved Mäki in the Italian Formula Renault and became an instant masterpiece. He also took part in the Formula Renault Eurocup and was finally ninth in the overall standings. In both series, he drove team for the Epsilon Red Bull. From 2007 to 2009, Mäki was supported by Red Bull.

Mäki 2008 drove for Mücke Motorsport for the first time in the Formula 3 Euro Series. His teammates are his former Formula BMW rival Christian Vietoris and Erik Janis. Ready in his first race at Hockenheim he hailed his first victory. This was followed by another victory at Mugello. The young Finn finished the season in fifth place overall and finished second in the rookie standings. In the fall Mäki completed several GP2 tests for Arden International and subsequently took part in the GP2 Asia race in part in Shanghai. Although Mäki was better placed after this weekend as his team-mate Luiz Razia he was replaced by Renger van der Zande. 2009 denied Mäki as driver of the Signature-Plus team its second season in the Formula 3 Euro Series and could not improve compared to his debut season. With a win in the feature race at Brands Hatch, the Finn finished sixth overall.

2010 Mäki was at first without a racing cockpit and returned to the middle of the season back in the Formula 3 Euro Series. For Moto Park Academy, he started with three race weekends, finishing 17th at the end of the season overall.
