Mike Bryan

Michael Carl " Mike" Bryan ( born April 29, 1978 in Camarillo, California) is an American tennis player.

Career

Together with his twin brother Bob Bryan, it forms one of the most successful tennis doubles, the present and is currently at the top of the ATP Double world rankings.

Among his greatest successes include fifteen Grand Slam titles in doubles competition together with his brother Bob, and three Grand Slam titles in mixed competition with Lisa Raymond. His first Grand Slam he won with Bob in 2003 at the French Open 2003. Following titles they won in succession at the 2005 U.S. Open, the Australian Open in 2006 and Wimbledon in 2006. So Mike and Bob Bryan completed already with the fourth title win their career Grand Slam. There were other titles at the Australian Open and the U.S. Open, and two more in Wimbledon. However, your success at the French Open in 2003 they were able to repeat in 2013. Mike Bryan joined 2004, 2008 and 2012 at the Olympic Games for the United States. 2004 in Athens, he was put together with Bob on one position without dropping a set and reached the quarter-finals. There, they lost against the later gold medalists Fernando González and Nicolás Massú from Chile in straight sets. At the 2008 Games in Beijing, he won with Bob after a victory over the French Arnaud Clément and Michaël Llodra the bronze medal in doubles. In the semifinals, the brothers were subject to the future Olympic champions Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland. In 2012, Mike Bryan joined not only the men's doubles with his twin brother, but this time also in the mixed doubles. Together with Lisa Raymond, he reached the semi-finals, where they lost Wiktoryja Azarenka and Max Mirnyi. In the match for bronze then they won against the Germans Sabine Lisicki and Christopher Kas. Bob and Mike Bryan were also able to win the doubles competition for the first time: in two sets in the final they defeated Michaël Llodra and Jo -Wilfried Tsonga and thus won the gold medal. Since 2003 Mike Bryan plays for the U.S. Davis Cup team. He and his brother Bob are common with 20 victories, the most successful double of Americans in Davis Cup history. He was on the team that won the Davis Cup in 2007.
