Mikhail Sergeyevich Zhukov (Russian: Михаил Сергеевич Жуков; born January 3, 1985 in Leningrad, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian- Swedish professional ice hockey player who is under contract with HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk in the Kontinental Hockey League since January 2013. He is the son of Sergei Zhukov and nephew of Andrei Zhukov, who were both also professional hockey players.

Career

Mikhail Zhukov began his career as a hockey player in Sweden, where his father was active as a professional hockey player until 1997. In 2000, he took with the regional team Jämtland / Härjedalen on TV spitting contest. Connecting he played in the youth of the Swedish association Mora IK, for which he was active in the 2000/ 01 season. He then played two seasons for IFK Arboga IK in the HockeyAllsvenskan before he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2003 in the third round than a total of 72 players from the Edmonton Oilers. This, however, never took him under contract.

After another season in the HockeyAllsvenskan at VIK Västerås HK of the attackers moved in summer 2004 to Ak Bars Kazan in his native Russia. With the Panthers, he was in 2006 and 2009 Champion of Russia. He also won the 2007 IIHF European Champions Cup and the 2008 IIHF Continental Cup. In the season 2004/ 05 Zhukov also completed some games for the HK Spartak Moscow in the Super League.

Prior to the 2009/10 season Zhukov left the Ak Bars, and was obliged by HK Lada Togliatti, for which he completed six games and mid-October 2009 Severstal Cherepovets joined. For Severstal he played until end of September 2010, before he had played a short stint with the SKA St. Petersburg, for his father for many years, came to HK Spartak Moscow. In November 2011 he joined Vityaz Chekhov, left the club but after a few games again and played from January 2012 HK Avangard Omsk for. After the season he returned to Spartak Moscow.

In January 2013, the management of the HK Spartak sent him first to the partner team Buran Voronezh, before he was released end of the month to the HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk.
