Mikko Kousa

Mikko Kousa (born 11 May 1988 in Lahti ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who is since April 2013 in Helsinki Jokerit in the SM- liiga under contract.

Career

Mikko Kousa began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the Pelicans Lahti, for their first team to 2010 he was active from 2007 in the SM- liiga, the top Finnish league. From 2006 to 2008, he also played for the Finnish U20 national team in the second-rate Mestis where it ran aground in the season 2009/10 Players out on loan in six games for HeKi. For the 2010/11 season the defender of Lahti League rival HIFK Helsinki was obliged, with whom he won the Finnish championship title at first attempt.

From May 2012 Kousa stood at Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod of the Kontinental Hockey League contract and absovlierte 19 KHL games for Torpedo, before he was released in January 2013 from his contract and joined the Elitserien with a contract until season's end to MODO Hockey. He was then obliged in April 2013 Jokerit Helsinki.

Internationally

For Kousa Finland took part in the U20 World Youth Championship 2008. During the tournament in six games, he scored a goal and two assists.
