Milcah Cheywa

Milcah chemo Cheywa ( born February 24, 1986 at Mount Elgon District in the province of Western) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in the steeplechase.

Early in her career she started in middle distance running. Once here, however einstellten no success, she moved in March 2009 to the obstacle course. Just a few months later, that decision paid off for them. At the World Athletics Championships in Berlin she won in a personal best time of 9:08,57 min the bronze medal behind the Spaniard Marta Domínguez and the Russian Julija Sarudnewa.

At the Track Championships Africa 2010 in Nairobi Cheywa won the title in the steeplechase. They also won in this discipline the Appreciation of the IAAF Diamond League. They won four out of seven individual race of the series and finished second in the other three each second place. In addition, she won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. At the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu, she repeated her success of Berlin with a bronze medal. In London she went at the 2012 Olympics with fourth place empty, although it was traded by the experts as the top favorite for the title. A year later she became world champion in Moscow.
