Milovice u Hořic

Milovice u Hořic until 1998 Milovice ( German Milowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It lies around 20 kilometers north- west of the center of Hradec Králové and belongs to Okres Jičín.

Geography

Milovice is located in the North Bohemian plateau at the creek Rašínský creek above its junction with Brook in the Bašnický. Through the village the European Route 442 / State Road 35 leads between Hradec Králové and Jičín.

Neighboring towns are Vinice and Hořice in the north, Ostrov and Třebnouševes in the northeast, Rašín in the east, Horni Černůtky and Klenice the southeast, Stračov in the south, Bříšťany the southwest, Zvínovská and Sukorady in the west and Bašnice and Dobra Voda u Hořic in the northwest.

History

First settlement evidence on the territory of the municipality date from the Neolithic period. Since 1197 Milovice is documentary evidence. In 1384 the church was first mentioned.

After the abolition of patrimonial Milovice formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Hradec Králové. While the German war Milovice was in 1866 on the edge of the battlefield of the Battle of Hradec Kralove. As of 1900, the village belonged to the district of Nová Paka and came in the 1930s to Okres Hořice and 1961 Okres Jičín. Milovice was incorporated into Bašnice on 30 April 1976. Since 24 November 1990, the municipality Milovice there again. On 1 January 1999, the name of the village was changed to Milovice u Hořic.
