Miriam Margolyes

Miriam Margolyes OBE ( born May 18, 1941 in Oxford, England) is a British theater and film actress and voice actress.

Biography

Miriam Margolyes was born as the daughter of Ruth Walters and Joseph Margolyes, a physician in Oxford. She attended the local Oxford High School and then the Newnham College, Cambridge, where she came for the first time in connection with the theater. She was a member of the Cambridge Footlights.

Margolyes worked as a voice actor. Her first starring role was that of Elephant Ethel in Stand Up, Virgin Soldiers ( 1977). In 1988, she played the role of Flora Pinching in the movie Little Dorrit ( Little Dorrit ). In the U.S. they made ​​in 1992 by the comedy Frannie's Turn headlines.
