Mo Williams
Maurice Williams ( born December 19, 1982 in Jackson ) is an American basketball player. He is a point guard with the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA.
NBA career
Utah Jazz (2003-2004)
Maurice Williams was selected by the Utah Jazz on 47 out of the NBA Drafts 2003. After a mixed rookie season, he signed as a free agent with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Milwaukee Bucks (2004-2008)
He replaced T. J. Ford, who was a year later traded for Charlie Villanueva of the Toronto Raptors, when he had been injured. On 20 December 2006 he scored a triple-double against the Miami Heat with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. In 2008, he was then sent to Cleveland in a three - team trade (with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Cleveland Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks ).
Cleveland Cavaliers (2008-2011)
As his former jersey number 25 was not assigned when the Cavaliers in honor of Mark Price, Williams moved to jersey number 2 On 10 February 2009 he was nominated for the NBA All -Star Game and a day later he scored his Career High of 44 Points in a game against the Phoenix Suns. This season, the Cavaliers were able to record 66 victories and had it the best winning odds in the NBA.
After LeBron James left the Cavaliers, Williams was one of the leaders of the team.
Los Angeles Clippers (2011-2012)
On 24 February 2011, Williams was transferred in exchange for Baron Davis to the Los Angeles Clippers. For the Clippers, he started the remaining games. With the obligations of Chris Paul and Chauncey Billups to the 2011/12 season Williams lost his starting place and henceforth came off the bench for 'Best Sixth Man '. In the election to the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award, he landed in eighth place.
Utah Jazz (2012-2013)
On June 29, Williams was transferred in the course of a trade between the Clippers, Jazz, Rockets and Mavs to Utah. For the Jazz Williams ran as a starter on the PG position. However, he ran because of injuries to only 46 games for the Jazz. After his contract expired in the summer of 2013 Williams was awarded a new contract offered in jazz.
Portland Trail Blazers (since 2013)
On August 8, 2013 Williams signed a contract with the Portland Trail Blazers for the season 2013/2014.
