Molfetta
Molfetta is a port city with 60 338 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Bari, in Apulia (Italy). The city is located about 25 km north of Bari.
Pope Innocent VIII was from 1472 until his election in 1484 Bishop of Molfetta.
The old town of Molfetta with the Duomo di San Corrado ( German: Dom Sankt Konrad ) from 1150 had to be used in recent years as a particularly dramatic example of Urban coring. She was almost abandoned and ruined. A general renovation was previously marked improvement in the situation. The old and new cathedrals as well as large parts of the Old City have been renovated and now in a good condition.
The new cathedral dates from the 17th century and 18th century.
In the region around Molfetta olives and vines are grown.
