Mölln, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Mölln is a municipality in the district of Mecklenburg Lake District Mecklenburg -Vorpommern. It is located northwest of Neubrandenburg and belongs to the Office Stavenhagen, which has its administrative headquarters in Stavenhagen.

Geography and transport

Mölln is approximately 18 kilometers southeast of Stavenhagen and ten kilometers northwest of Neubrandenburg. Federal highway 104 and the railway line Biitzow - Szczecin traverse the community. The village Mölln in 1864 received a station with station building and freight handling. The building and the signal boxes are placed under monument protection. The station is still in operation today. The municipal area is the Möllner lake.

History

Mölln was founded by the Slavs. Even today, it can be seen until the 13th century on the northern edge of the village a silted island castle from the 7th.
