Momotarō

Momotaro (Japanese桃 太郎, dt as: "Peach Boy" ) is a popular figure of Japanese folk belief.

According to legend, Momotaro slipped from a peach and defeated - supported by a monkey, a pheasant and a dog a three-eyed, three-toed man-eating demon.

Momotaro is especially revered in Okayama and on the island of Shikoku. The topic will be processed in popular literature and in movies often. The figure was eponymous for the football club Okayama ( Fagiano is Italian and means " pheasant ").
