Mór Than

Mór Than (* June 19, 1828 in Óbecse (Alt - Becse ) in Bácser County ( southern Hungary ), † March 11, 1899 in Trieste ) was a Hungarian painter.

Than first studied law, then turned to painting, took part in the battles of the year in 1849 and continued his studies at the Vienna Academy, and later with Rahl continued.

After a trip to Germany and Belgium, he painted in 1856 at Paris, the Battle of Mohács ( 1526). He lived to, the execution of multiple images for the Baron Sina ( Odysseus and Nausicaa, Odysseus and Penthesilea ) employed three years in Rome and received in 1859 a contract for the execution of the reunification of the king's son with the magic Helene performing mural in the ball room to plague, where he settled permanently.

He has since created a greater number of altarpieces, portraits ( including that of the Emperor of Austria for the great hall of the new library building ) and history paintings ( Angelica and Medor, love the Fata Morgana ) and with Lotz wall paintings and a frieze ( from the history of Hungary ) in the stairwell of the National Museum to plague.
