The Morkoka (Russian Моркока; Yakut Моркуока, Morkuoka ) is a 841 km long right tributary of the Marcha in Siberia (Russia, Asia).
Course
The Morkoka pours in 627 m height the lake Bajyttach (also Byjyttach ), which lies just north of the Arctic Circle on the means to Siberian mountains belonging Wiljuiplateau. It flows through this high country in southeastern, eastern directions later in a deeply incised into the plateau valley, from the middle reaches in wide arcs meandering, always on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Sakha ( Yakutia). The river turns to the lower reaches to the northeast and finally ends in 148 m altitude in the there about the same width Marcha, a tributary of the Wiljui. The most important tributaries are from left Tangchan (length 131 km) and Morkoka - Marcharata (179 km).
Hydrographic
The catchment area of 32,400 km ² comprises Morkoka. The Morkoka freezes between the first of October and the second half of May.
Infrastructure and economy
The Morkoka is not navigable.
The through by her Bergland is largely uninhabited; accordingly lacks any infrastructure almost completely.
