Morra (Dongeradeel)

Morra ( Frisian: Moarre ) is a village in the municipality Dongeradeel in the Dutch province of Friesland. It is located northeast of Dokkum and has 220 inhabitants (2008 ).

The name of the village Morra beudetet marshy land and also nowadays Morra is still surrounded by marshy moorland. It is believed that even before our era have lived in Morra people. Morra was built on a mound and the village is a medieval church to find from the 13th century.
