Moshe Baram

Moshe Bar'am (Hebrew משה ברעם; born March 17, 1911 in Sdolbuniw; † 5 December 1986) was an Israeli politician who served as Member of the HaMa'arach Minister of Welfare and Social Services (16 January 1977 to June 20, 1977 ) and labor Minister (June 3, 1974, to June 20, 1977). He is the father of Uzi Bar'am.

Life

Moshe Bar'am attended school in Kovno. In his youth he was a member of Hechalutz movement and Dror, the Zionist youth movement of the Labour Party Poale Zion. In 1931 he immigrated within the aliyah to Palestine. There he was a member of the Haganah. In 1959 he was Member of the Knesset Mapai. 1965 Mapai part of HaMa'arach, where Bar'am remained until 1977 Knesset. On 3 June 1974, he was appointed Minister of Labour. Shortly before the elections in 1977, he also assumed the post of Minister of Welfare and Social Services. His term lasted until June 20, 1977 because he lost his seat in the elections 1977.

Publications

He published in 1981 his book Lo loading Telem (Hebrew: לא בתלם; Not in a rut ) before he died five years later.
