Moussa Moumouni Djermakoye

Moussa Moumouni Djermakoye ( born June 26, 1944 in Dosso ) is a Nigerien army officer and politician.

Life

Moussa Moumouni Djermakoye comes from the dynasty of traditional Zarma - ruler of Dosso. He received military training in France and served as the commander of the training center in the military camp Tondibiah in the Nigerien armed forces. Moumouni Djermakoye was Deputy Chief of Staff with the rank of lieutenant colonel, as he put down in 1996 with other officers under the leadership of chief of staff Ibrahim Baré Maïnassara President Mahamane Ousmane in a military coup. He was a member of the Council of National Salvation, the twelve-member military junta formed after the coup, chaired Baré Maïnassaras, for which he initially took over the function of the Prefect President of the capital Niamey, the Chief of Staff of the Nigerien armed forces. Ibrahim Baré Maïnassara was killed in April 1999 in another military coup. In the transitional government then formed Moumouni Djermakoye was defense minister.
