Munich Digitization Center

The Munich Digitization Center ( MDZ) is a device for digitization, online publication and long term archiving of the holdings of the Bavarian State Library and other memory organizations. It was founded in 1997 and is headed by Markus Brantl. Organizationally, it is the department assigned to inventory build-up and development of the Bavarian State Library.

The data managed by MDZ digital copies are available through the Digital Collections of the Bavarian State Library. There are currently over 945,000 titles available online ( as of June 2013)
