Municipality of Radlje ob Dravi

Radlje whether Dravi ( German: Mahrenberg ) is one among Styrian municipality, which now belongs to the region Carinthian in Slovenia.

Location and population

The existing total of 14 villages community Radlje whether Dravi has 6277 inhabitants. In the largest village of the same name, in 2688 people. The community is located east of Muta. About the Radlpass ( Radelj ) leads to Austria.

History

The area around Radlje whether Dravi has been inhabited since ancient times. As a settlement it is first mentioned in 1139 and in 1268 she received already the market rights.

Worth seeing

On the hillside of Kozjanski Hill is the former Dominican convent Mahrenberg, which was founded in 1251 by Seifried of Mahrenberg and his mother. Hillside Perkolica the caves Pavlijeva luknja and Huda luknja are seen.
