Munningen is a municipality in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries and a member of the administrative community Oettingen in Bayern.

Geography
Location
Munningen is located on the Wörnitz between Oettingen in Bavaria in the north and in the south Wechingen.

History
The village has, starting from the Roman fort Losodica Roman origin. First documented in 1265, the village was first mentioned. In the Middle Ages it was under the territorial sovereignty of the Counts of Oettingen. During the Reformation, and the division into two lines of the House of Oettingen, the village was divided denominationally in 1550. With the Act of Confederation in 1806 the place came to the Kingdom of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818 the municipality Munningen.
Incorporations
On 1 May 1978, the former municipalities foliage and Schwörsheim were incorporated in the course of municipal reform.

Parish council
The council consists of 12 members, all belonging to the liberal voters in districts differentiated lists.
Attractions
The leaning church tower is the landmark of Munningen. From the top to the bottom is the tower of the Catholic Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul about 1.47 m from the Lot. The Catholic church was renovated in 2007. In this case, all the relics, which for decades could not be spent in the altars, were solemnly reinstated.

Since December 2009, the state road leads past 2221 on the west by Munningen and connects Oettingen in Bayern and Wechingen directly. About the county road DON 17 which intersects the new bypass in a roundabout Munningen is connected to the B 466. A local link road heading east leads to Megesheim.
The bus lines 740 and 750 of the Transport Community Donau-Ries connect Munningen weekdays with the surrounding villages as well as the Hoppingen, Möttingen and Nördlingen stations on the railway line Donauwörth- Aalen.
