Myroslav Ivan Lubachivsky

Myroslaw Ivan Cardinal Ljubatschiwskyj (Ukrainian Мирослав Іван Любачівський, scientific transliteration Myroslav Ivan Ljubačivs'kyj; * June 24, 1914 in Dolyna, Ukraine, † 14 December 2000 in Lviv ) was Archbishop of Philadelphia, later Archbishop of Lviv of the Ukrainian Greek - Catholic Church.

Life

Myroslaw Ivan Ljubatschiwskyj received his theological and philosophical education in Lviv, Canisianum in Innsbruck, Sion and Rome. He earned his doctorate in Catholic theology and received on 28 September 1938, the sacrament of Holy Orders. In the years 1938 to 1942, he worked as a chaplain in Lviv, before he pursued further studies in Rome until 1947. From 1947 to 1979 he served as parish priest in various cities in the United States living there Ukrainian Catholics of Chrysostom - rite. In addition, he worked in the training of clergy and as a university teacher. He has also written numerous articles for Vatican Radio.
