Nadia Ali

Nadia Ali ( born August 3, 1980) is a Pakistani- American singer- songwriter. She is best known as a member of the band iiO, which came in 2001 with the hit Rapture second place in the UK Singles Chart.

Biography

Nadia Ali was born in 1980 in Libya, the daughter of Pakistani parents. Even when she was a child, her family moved to New York, where she still lives today.

At the age of 17 years Ali met music producer Markus Moser, who was looking for a singer for his productions. The duo eventually co-founded the music project Vaiio, named after the Sony Vaio laptop, working on the Ali and Moser at the beginning. To prevent possible legal problems with Sony to go out of the way, the prefix " Va " was later removed. iiO is especially known for the world's most successful hit single Rapture, which was published in 2001. The follow-up single At The End climbed into the top 20 of the UK Singles Chart.

2005 Ali left the group to start a solo career. 2006, however, still appeared Poetica, the debut album of iiO. Moser continued to produce under the name iiO and with Ali's voice. So was published in 2006 still the single Is It Love? and 2007, the album Reconstruction Time: The Best of iiO Remixed.

At the beginning of her solo career, Ali has worked with various successful producers such as Armin van Buuren and went with him on tour. Her first solo single crash and burn was not published until 2008. In the Billboard dance charts (Hot Dance Club Songs), the song was ranked sixth Her second single Love Story, which was remixed, among others, Andy Moor, reached there even square one. The song was nominated at the Winter Music Conference as Best Progressive / Tech House Track 2010.

In September 2009, finally released her first solo album Embers. From this date two more songs were released as singles: FinePrint and fantasy. In December 2010, the Morgan Page remix of Fantasy in the Best Remixed Recording category was, Non-Classical for the Grammy Awards nominated 2011.
