Nanjangud Shivananju Manju

NS Manju ( Nanjangud Shivananju Manju; born May 9, 1987 in Nanjangud, Karnataka ) is an Indian football player. He stands at Mohun Bagan AC in the I-League, the highest Indian Division, under contract since 2007.

Career

Manju began his career in 2003 in the I-League Second Division at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited SC, was for the team the defender to 2004 under contract, after which he worked for three years in Mahindra United in the highest Indian league. In the season 2005/ 06 he was with Mahindra Indian Masters. In 2007, he transferred to Premier League rivals Mohun Bagan AC, for the team he runs since then.

In 2009 he was awarded the FPAI Awards as the best player of India, along with Sunil Chhetri and Anthony Pereira.

National

Since 2005, Manju is in the squad of the Indian national football team since the tour of the national team in Pakistan. He won with his national team the Nehru Cup 2007. According to an injury to his Achilles tendon in the South Asian Football Federation Cup, he could not participate in the AFC Challenge Cup 2008, the India decided in his favor and thus qualified for the Asian Cup 2011. He took in 2009 at the training camp for the Nehru Cup 2009 in Barcelona part, but immediately in the first match against Lebanon, he was injured severely and had thus to the rest of the Nehru Cup 2009, at the IFA Shield, the Durand Cup and the Federations Cup without.

Previously, he played 21 international matches, scoring two goals.
