Nasr ibn Sayyar

Nasr ibn Saiyar (. Arabic نصر بن سيار, DMG Nasr b Saiyar, * 663, † 748 ) was an Arab governor of Khorassan.

Nasr took early part in the campaigns of Muslims in Central Asia / Transoxiana. Under the Caliph Hisham, he was appointed governor of Khorasan and conquered Sogdiana final with Samarkand and Tashkent. However, led the conflict between North and South Arabians, who coined the end of the Umayyad also tensions in the troops that had Nasr assumed.

Since he received no support from the caliph because of infighting among the Umayyads in Syria, he gradually lost control of the province. This could gain great influence in Eastern Iran the propaganda of the Abbasids.
