National Center of Cinematography and the moving image

The Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée (CNC ) is the French national film promotion authority established in the 16th arrondissement.

The CNC was founded in 1946 under the name Centre national de la cinématographie and reports to the French Ministry of Culture. The chairperson of the Authority (currently the producer Véronique Cayla ) is appointed by the Minister of Culture / by the Minister of Culture. 2011 movies could be funded with 720 million euros.

The CNC maintains a film library in the ancient city of Bois- d'Arcy at Versailles. It is a member of Vertriebsvverband TV France International.
