National Prize for Literature (Cuba)

The Premio Nacional de Literatura de Cuba ( Cuban National Prize for Literature ) was established as one of the oldest state-owned Cuban art awards 1982 by the Cuban Ministry of Culture to life. Since then he is awarded annually to one or more writers for their life's work. Will be honored living resident in Cuba authors. The right to nominate some official Cuban cultural institutions; ultimately be decided by a jury from among the candidates. The prize is worth 10,000 pesos, and the winners will also be honored at an awards ceremony with a artistically designed certificate and the presence at the International Book Fair of Havana ( Feria Internacional del Libro de La Habana ). Due to the awards ceremony many of her books are reprinted. The support of the State Prize Most also get a kind of state pension in the amount of 100 CUC, but this is not an official part of the price.
