Natsu no Arashi!

Natsu no Arashi! (Japanese夏 の あらし!, dt " summer storms " ) is a written and illustrated by Jin Kobayashi manga, from 26 August 2006 to 26 March 2009 in the magazine Gangan Wing, on 22 April 2009 then expected to on September 22, 2010 Gangan Joker will be published in the sequel. The published chapters of the manga have been grouped into eight tankōbon editions. The animation studio Shaft sat Natsu no Arashi! in 2009 as two 13 - episode anime television series by and published in the same year also a 13-part sequel titled Natsu no Arashi! Akinai - chū.

Action

The thirteen- year-old and somewhat stocky Hajime Yasaka spends his summer vacation in his grandfather's house. One day he meets in a corner cafe on the beautiful service Sayoko Arashiyama and for him it's love at first sight. When he tries to get closer to her private investigator enters the café, claiming that he was sent by Sayokos family return to it, even if he has to apply to violence. With the unexpected help of Hajime but she manages to escape and so she hides in his apartment. Only a short time later, however, Hajime discovers that it is not a normal girl with Sayoko, but the spirit of the Second World War dead. This manifests itself in her unusual abilities. For example, it can travel through the contact with Hajime through time, resulting in the course of action to numerous temporal paradoxes.

Formation and Publications

The artist Jin Kobayashi was known for his work School Rumble School Rumble Z and his successor. Even during the implementation of School Rumble, he began in 2006 his work on Natsu no Arashi! . Since August 26, 2006 the manga Joker appears in magazines published by Square Enix, first in Gangan Wing, was set up with the May issue on 26 March 2009, from 22 April 2009 successor Gangan. On 21 August 2010 it was announced in this magazine that the manga will end in the following October issue. So the manga ended on 22 September 2010 and Kobayashi began on his next work Ichiro Heian! to work.

By November 2010, all 50 chapters of the manga have been grouped into eight tankōbon editions and published.

Anime

In November 2008, the adaptation of Natsu no Arashi was! announced as an anime television series. Directed by Akiyuki Shimbo and from a screenplay by Katsuhiko Takayama the anime in animation studio Shaft was produced. The design of the characters was by Kazuhiro Ota, based on the drawings by Jin Kobayashi designed.

Since 6 April to 29 June 2009, shortly after midnight (and thus on the previous TV day ) the 13 episodes complete series was broadcast weekly on the Japanese broadcaster TV Tokyo and staggered on other stations.

By Starchild Records, it was announced that there should be a continuation of the series in the fall of 2009. This was from 6 October to 29 December 2009 to be shortly after midnight under the name Natsu no Arashi! Akinai - chū (Japanese夏 の あらし!春夏 冬 中) and produced by Studio Shaft aired on TV Tokyo and other stations.

Both series were offered as a simulcast with English subtitles as well from the streaming service Crunchyroll.

Conception

The series often used expressionist or unrealistic acting elements. Thus, the backgrounds are often moved deliberately contrary to the movement of the " camera " and many scenes have a shadow fills the entire image in the form of a polygon, outside of which the environment is depicted become dark.

Within the Eckcafés in which plays a large part of the plot, the entire floor running star shape to a point, while hanging on the walls abstract representation of images of famous artists that are exchanged depending on the situation. In the ninth episode, numerous cameo appearances by characters from other crept at the same time or even ended in the anime series one.
