Naze, Kagoshima
Naze (Japanese名 瀬 市, -shi ) is a city on the island of Amami - Oshima in the Japanese prefecture of Kagoshima.
History
The village Naze (名 瀬 村, -son ) was founded on April 1, 1908 county Ōshima. On October 1, 1922, was appointed Chō and on 1 July 1946 by the U.S. military administration to Shi. On 25 December 1953, the island group was back together against Naze to Japan. On 1 February 1955, the village Mikata (三方 村, -son ) was amalgamated from the county Ōshima.
On 20 March 2006, Naze united with the town of Kasari (笠 利 町, -chō ) and the village Sumiyo (住 用 村, -son ), each district Ōshima, the new city of Amami.
Traffic
About the island, the National Road 58 Setouchi. The road also - repeatedly interrupted by the water - up to Kagoshima on Kyushu and Naha on Okinawa.
There are also ferry services from the port Naze (名 瀬 港, Naze -kō ) to the neighboring islands to Kagoshima and Naha.
Education
In Naze are each 7 elementary and middle, and 3 high schools. Furthermore, there is the technical school for nursing and welfare Amami (奄 美 看护 福祉 専 门 学校, Amami Kango Fukushi Semmon Gakko ) and the College for data processing Amami (奄 美 情报 处理 専 门 学校, Amami Joho Shori Semmon Gakko ).
