Amami, Kagoshima

Amami (Japanese奄 美 市, -shi ) is a city on the island of Amami - Oshima in Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan.

History

It was (笠 利 町, -chō ) (住 用 村, son) and founded the village of the district Sumiyo Ōshima on 20 March 2006 from the union of the city Naze (名 瀬 市, -shi), the municipality Kasari.
