China (Kagoshima)

China (Japanese知名 町, -chō, [ tɕina ] ) is a town in the district Ōshima in Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan.

Geography

China is on the lying north-northeast of Okinawa island Okinoerabujima. This is the zweitsüdlichste belonging to the Ryukyu Islands Amami Islands. China is one of two towns on the island (the other being Wadomari ). The approximately one kilometer long Yakomo - beach is from the port by bus about five minutes. Other natural attractions include the sea - beach of the Ushishi (ウシシ 海岸, Ushishi - kaigan ) and the Cape Tamina (田 皆 岬, Tamina - misaki ).

China includes the 3500 -meter-long Shoryu Caves (升 竜 洞, Shoryu - dō ). They were discovered in 1963 and made available in part to the public in the same year. Is the mountain Daisen (大 山) is also within the city limits.

History

Education

The education system in China is overseen by the five members in the education committee of the city. These are elected every four years.
