Need You Tonight

Need You Tonight is a song by INXS from 1987, which was written by Michael Hutchence and Andrew Farriss. It appeared on the album Kick.

History

In the official autobiography of the band INXS Andrew Farriss said that he had the guitar riff of the song in his head, as if waiting for an ordered cab to drive him to the airport. Upon arrival Farris asked him a few minutes to wait, he wanted to get something out of the motel. Farris took the song on tape and let the taxi driver to wait an hour. Michael Hutchence later wrote the text for the song. The publication took place on 23 September 1987.

The sounds of the songs are reminiscent of electronic music. There are sequencer combined with drum machines and guitar riffs. The rotated by Richard Lowenstein music video for Need You Tonight 1988 won five MTV Video Music Awards, including Video of The Year.
