Neidling

Neidling is a market town with 1482 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Sankt Pölten- Land in Lower Austria.

Neidling located in the Most district northwest of St. Pölten on the eastern edge of the Dunkelsteinerwald. The area of ​​the municipality covers 18.57 square kilometers. 36.21 percent of the area is forested.

History

In ancient times, the area was part of the province of Noricum. A church in Neidlinger municipality is mentioned in the year 828. In the core Austrian state of Lower Austria lying the place told the eventful history of Austria. The rule Goldegg with the Goldegg Castle, which was located since 1589 in the possession of the Barons of Enenkel since 1782 and is owned by the Auersperg family until 1848 was the center of today's municipal area. Today's church was built in 1850.
