Nelarabine is a rare nucleoside. It consists of a furanose (sugar ) and the 6-O- methylguanine. It contains - in contrast to most nucleosides - instead of the β -D - ribofuranose the β -D - arabinofuranose and thus belongs to the group of Arabinosylnukleoside. The corresponding nucleoside with ribose is the 6-O- methylguanosine. Nelarabine is used as a cytostatic agent.
