Nemanja Protić

Nemanja Protić ( Serbian Cyrillic Немања Протић; born August 13, 1986 in Čačak, SR Serbia) is a Serbian professional basketball player. In addition to clubs in his Serbian homeland Protić already played for clubs from Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and Bulgaria. In the National Basketball League 2010/11 played Protić also briefly for the German first division EWE Baskets Oldenburg. Since end of 2013 Protić playing for the Montenegrin Series champion KK Budućnost from Podgorica.

Career

The from Čačak, where many famous Serbian basketball players, led by Dragan Kićanović and Željko Obradovic, were born, originating Protić started his career at local club KK Borac. After the 2005/ 06 season he moved to the Serbian capital Belgrade to ABA League Victors FMP Železnik, with whom he won the 2007 Serbian Cup competition. In 2009, he won with the Serbian student selection, the gold medal at the 2009 Summer Universiade in Belgrade. After the 2009/10 season, in the FMP Železnik again reached the national cup final and lost, he was brought to the German Basketball Bundesliga for the EWE Baskets Oldenburg from the Bosnian - Serbian coach Predrag Krunić. At the German champion of 2009 Protić but could not prevail, and his contract was prematurely terminated in December 2010.

Protić then moved into the Basketball Super League Ukraine, where he played for three months to mid- February 2011 Chimik from Juschne, before joining the club from Nizhny Novgorod moved to end of the season to Russia, where in the episode with his compatriots Ivan Paunić and Boban he Marjanović played together. In February 2013 Protić had four inserts for his hometown club KK Borac in the Košarkaška liga Srbije. End of the season he played along with his compatriots Marko Marinović and Mladen Pantić at Levski Sofia in Bulgaria. In the Balkan League, they lost the final match against Hapoel Gilboa Galil and also in the national championship, it was only enough for the runner-up for the lost play-off final series against local rivals and defending champion Lukoil Akademik Sofia.

In the 2013/14 season Protić played to mid- December 2013 in his parent club KK Borac in the Serbian league, before moving to KK Budućnost from Podgorica, which is represented as Montenegrin Series champion in the ABA League and the Eurocup 2013/14.
