Neomariania partinicensis

Neomariania partinicensis is a butterfly of the family of Stathmopodidae.

Features

The moths reach a wingspan of 10-12 millimeters. The head is pale gray mottled ocher and brown. The antennae are dark brownish gray, the apical half is slightly lighter. They are very long and rich with one-sixth of its length above the front edge of the front wing addition. The basal joint is slightly thickened and has no bristle comb. Thorax and tegulae are pale ocher mixed gray and brown. The front wings are also pale ocher- gray and mottled gray-brown, especially on the Costa loader and in the apical region. In the wing center there is a wide, irregular and indistinct binding. At the inner angle there is a blurry spot. The fringe scales are ocher- gray. The hind wings are gray.

In the males, the Valven have a large curved Costa. The inside of the projecting at right angles extension of the saccule is nearly straight. The aedeagus is cylindrical.

In females, the lamellae are antevaginalis distally rounded. The ductus bursae is about as long as the corpus bursae. The signals are less bursae than half as long as the corpus.

Similar Species

Neomariania partinicensis similar Neomariania rebeli, but differs by the more ocher- gray coloration and by the sensors, which are longer than the front wing.

Dissemination

Neomariania partinicensis is widespread in the south of France, in Spain, Sicily and Malta, as well as in Greece and Crete.

Biology

The biology of the species is unknown. Moths were collected from late July to mid-September.
