Geography
Adjacent communities in the Vogtland are mountains, Poehl, Theuma, the cities Falkenstein, faithful and Plauen.

History
The first time in 1418 called New Town salt was in 1438 called Nuwen Salcze. Investigations at the chapel Neuensalz suggested, however, that this has already been built in the middle of the 12th century at the festivals of a pagan sacrificial site. The manor Neuensalz was in the 16th century the property of Tettau family. It was divided in 1945 as part of land reform.
Economically significant was the use of assignable since 1493 in old salt brine outcropping sources by the Saline Old Salt.

Culture and sights
Neuensalz shared with the community Poehl the recreational area of the dam Poehl. The secular chapel Neuensalz is a concert and exhibition center today. In the district of Old Salt 1214 built by the Teutonic Knights church contains the gothic wooden ceiling baroque ornament paintings of approximately in 1650. Mechelgrün In the district there are the ruins of the moated castle Mechelgrün.
Economy and infrastructure
New salt is conveniently located on the BAB 72 and is from Junction Plauen -Ost ( 7) via the B 173 to achieve. On the western edge of Neuensalz Furthermore begins the B 169
In the district Thoßfell the community has a break point on the railway line Herlasgrün -Falkenstein.
