The market was before the municipal reform to the district Eschenbach in der Oberpfalz.

History

Incorporations

On January 1, 1972, until then independent municipality Rothenbruck was incorporated. On 1 July 1972, added Krottensee.

Farms was up to the local government reform in Bavaria in 1978 independent municipality. Founded as a village clearing in the second half of the 15th century, it had 136 inhabitants in January 2006.

Mosen mountain, a clearing village from the 15th century, was formerly part of the community courts. It is located in a narrow strip of land on the Pegnitz and is called " appendix of the Nuremberg country." To the west of this strip of land lies Upper Franconia, the eastern Pegnitz shore belongs to the Upper Palatinate. In the field of Moses Mountain is the 1992 abandoned train station Ranna, branched off from the formerly a branch line to Auerbach in der Oberpfalz. Mosen Berg had 288 inhabitants in January 2006.

Worth seeing are the Veldenstein castle above the market town as well as the Catholic Church of St. Peter and Paul.

The town is the starting point of many biking and hiking trails.

Traffic

In Neuhaus an der Pegnitz, there is a centrally located railway station on the Nuremberg- Cheb. Several times every hour trains arrive towards Nuremberg and Bayreuth hourly direction and yard. Two Hourly holding a InterRegio Express to Dresden.

Established businesses

The largest operation is the large brewery Kaiser. Worth mentioning is the local brewing rights preserved to the present day: On a hanging at the house beer asterisk is displayed, in which the restaurant Kommunbier is served.
