Neun Welten

Nine Worlds is a 2001 in Halle ( Saale), founded Dark- folk band. Compared to other genre representatives to the nine worlds are characterized by their rich instrumentation ( guitar, violin, cello, flute, clarinet, piano and percussion in a fixed order), their primarily instrumental songs as well as their rock- influenced drumming. The band's name refers to Norse mythology, particularly to different worlds that are connected according to the Edda by the world tree Yggdrasil.

History

Nine worlds were founded in 2001 by Meinolf Müller, Marten Winter and Chris Kallenbach, who played together in the Black Metal band Insomnia astrorum. The new group was first the name 77 trolls, but was renamed a short time later in the nine worlds. While Chris Kallenbach left the group a short time later, the cast was completed by Aline Deinert, Anja Hovelmann and David Zaubitzer (also Insomnia astrorum ) 2002.

A live performance at the Wave -Gotik-Treffen in 2003 led to a contract with Prophecy Productions sublabel Auerbach recordings, on the 2004 official first release, the EP valg appeared. As a result of the publication of the phonogram played nine worlds many concerts, including on the TFF Rudolstadt (2004 ) and the Elf Fantasy Fair ( 2005). 2005 Nine Worlds were also nominated as a newcomer for RUTH World Music Award. In October 2006, the debut album Forgotten paths appeared, consequently participated Nine Worlds Creole Competition of central Germany and a tour of Germany with Tenhi (September 2007 ) and one with Dornenreich and Elane (October to December 2007) completed.

The second album Nine Weltens, Destrunken was, as valg and forgotten paths in Klangschmiede Studio E by Markus Stock, recorded and released in November 2009. Parallel to the album, the EP was released Dawn - The Destrunken demos, the demo versions of some album tracks contains and thus provides insights into the creative process of music Nine Weltens. A short time later, the band with the departure of Marten Winter and Anja Hovelmann was the first serious lineup changes known in its history. 2010 appeared on the compilations Whom The Moon A Nightsong Sings and Maere each an exclusive song by Nine worlds.

  • On Forgotten Paths the producer Markus Stock and Tobias Schönemann contributed to the song Svartalfheim backing vocals.
  • Aline Deinert is live violinist of Empyrium, the chamber and Haggard.
  • David Zaubitzer played cello on the debut album 5 Ways To Illuminate Silence of Mourning Rise.
  • Marten Winter has a doctorate in biology and works at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ.
