Neuvelle-lès-Cromary
Neuvelle -lès- Cromary is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.
Geography
Neuvelle -lès- Cromary situated at an altitude of 250 m above sea level, 3 km south of Rioz and about 17 km north of the city of Besançon (air line). The village is located in the south of the department, to the north of the river valley Ognon, on the plateau west of the Taleinschnitts the Ruisseau de Malgérard.
The area of 6.29 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the undulating landscape between the river valleys of the south and Ognon Saône in the northwest. The central part of the area is occupied by the plateau of Neuvelle, which is on average 270 m. It consists of an alternation of calcareous and sandy- marly layers of the upper Jurassic period. The plateau is mainly consisted of arable and meadow land. In the east it is bounded by the wooded valley section of the Ruisseau de Malgérard, which provides for drainage to Ognon. To the northwest, the municipality's area extends over the forest area of La Côte and the Valley of Buthiers to the extensive grove of Forêt de Sorans. Here the highest elevation of Neuvelle -lès- Cromary is achieved with 371 m.
To Neuvelle -lès- Cromary heard the settlement Verjoulot (270 m) on the southern outskirts of Rioz. Neighboring communities of Neuvelle -lès- Cromary are Rioz in the north, and Traitiéfontaine Chambornay -lès- Bellevaux in the east, Sorans -lès -Breurey in the south and Montarlot -lès- Rioz in the West.
History
Several findings indicate that the municipality of Neuvelle was already inhabited during the Gallo- Roman period. Is first mentioned in the year Neuvelle 1180th In the Middle Ages the place to Franche-Comté and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont belonged. Together with the Franche -Comté Neuvelle came with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. In 1807 Neuvelle -lès- Cromary was incorporated into Sorans -lès -Breurey, but got it its independence in 1831 back again. Today Neuvelle -lès- Cromary is a member of the 28 localities comprehensive community association Communauté de communes du Pays Riolais.
Population
With 344 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Neuvelle -lès- Cromary is one of the small towns in the Haute- Saône. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1891 246 persons were still counted ), a strong population growth has been recorded since the early 1970s again. Since then, the population has more than doubled.
Economy and infrastructure
Neuvelle -lès- Cromary was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village. The water power of the Ruisseau de Malgérard was formerly used for the operation of two mills. Today, there are some establishments of local small businesses. In recent decades the village has been transformed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who do their work in the larger towns in the area and agglomeration in Besançon.
The village has good transport links. It is located near the main road N57, which runs from Besancon to Vesoul. The nearest links to the A36 motorway is located at a distance of about 17 km. Further road links exist with Rioz Traitiéfontaine, Rigney and Cromary.
