Nicholas IV, Duke of Opava

Nicholas IV of Opava (Czech: Mikuláš IV Opavský; * 1400, † 1437) was 1433-1437 Duke of Opava and gentleman on Zuckmantel. He came from the Opava branch of the Bohemian Přemyslids.

Life

His parents were Přemysl / Primislaus I of Opava († 1433 ) and his first wife Anna von Lutz († 1405).

After the death of his father in 1433, which left five sons, dubbed the second-born Nicholas IV as Lord of Zuckmantel. The eldest of the brothers, Wenceslas II, took over the guardianship of the younger brothers Wilhelm, Ernst and Přemysl / Primislaus II Although her father in his will stipulated that his areas should remain ungesondert, they shared about 1435 the inherited property. Wilhelm and Ernst received shares of Opava, and for the oldest brother Wenceslaus II became the independent Duchy Leobschutz outsourced. The youngest of the brothers, Přemysl / Primislaus II, for whom the ecclesiastical career was provided was probably nothing.

Nicholas IV died in 1437 unmarried and without issue. Heritage was probably the oldest brother Wenceslaus II
