Nimnica

Nimnica (Hungarian nemoc - to 1902 Nimnic ) is a municipality and a spa town in the north-west Slovakia. It lies at the foot of Javorníky Mountains at the Waag near the Nosice Reservoir (also called Priehrada mládeže ), 5 km from Púchov and 13 km from Považská Bystrica.

The village was mentioned in 1408 in writing as Nywnycze. The construction of the dam Priehrada mládeže a rich mineral spring was discovered in 1953 and 1959 a bathroom was opened with this source. Between 1979 and 1990 Nimnica was a part of the city Púchov.
