Ninnghizhidda
NINNGHIZHIDDA was a German dark metal band from Recklinghausen, which was active from 1997 to 2003.
Band History
In 1997, Patrick Kalla (vocals / guitar / bass) by Eternal Dirge and Tsatthoggua, Sascha Risseler (keyboards, " Dr. Faustus " ) of Eternal Dirge and Rene Bogdanski (guitar) by Crestfallen, the group NINNGHIZHIDDA. The name is based on HP Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos where it describes a serpentine deity. With a drummer with the pseudonym " Kerberos " you worked on the first songs that were released on the demo The Horned Serpent (1997). After several offers from German independent labels templates, it was decided to sign up at Invasion Records.
During the work on the debut album Blasphemy Kerberos got out, so that the befriended drummer Lightning Bolt was recruited by Tsatthoggua for some of the songs. Just before a tour was finally found a session drummer who has already been replaced a few months later by Kreator drummer Jürgen " Ventor " Reil. With Zagan ( Black Messiah ), a new bassist / vocalist got inside. As invasion Records went bankrupt in 1998, they brought out the self-financed EP Mistress of the Night, which earned them a recording contract with Displeased Records. NINNGHIZHIDDA was also represented at the seventh Unheard sampler Rock Hard magazine.
Shortly after the occupation broke again, so were supported for the 2002 album Demigod Patrick Kalla and Rene Bogdanksi by Sascha George (keyboards ) and Markus Aust. The album was rated positively among others by the Rock Hard magazine. 2003, the group broke up due to personal problems, her debut album was re-released in the same year on Displeased Records.
Sascha George joined insignia, while Sascha Riessler later active in the Gothic metal band Storm Guard. Rene Bogdanski together with Björn Goosses of Night in Gales since 2004 part of the group The Very End.
Music style
NINNGHIZHIDDA made use of a style that is now known as Dark Metal. Under the current in the 1990s black metal boom, the group of Invasion Records was marketed as a Black Metal band. In fact, the group is more oriented towards the Death Metal, but due to its high keyboard use some connections to Symphonic Black Metal. The band themselves described their music style as Heavy Metal. The texts are shaped and anti-religious act " of dark desires, and temptations of carnal desire for a kind of demonic, abysmal level."
