Niue national football team

The Niueanische national football team is the selection team of the Pacific island nation of Niue.

Niue is an associate member of the oceanic regional association OFC, but not owned by the world football governing body FIFA on. Therefore, Niue can not qualify for the Football World Cup or the OFC Nations Cup. The Football Association of Niue was founded in 1960 and is headquartered in Alofi.

During Niue, among other things in rugby, boxing and athletics at international competitions such as the Commonwealth Games taking part, the football team has not been active internationally for years. So far, Niue has ever only played two matches, both at the South Pacific Games in 1983. The games against Papua New Guinea ( 0:19 ) and Tahiti ( 12:14 ) both went up lost.

The most successful teams in the domestic league ( NIFA Championship ) are the Alofi, Lakepa and Talava.
